As a Photographer, Digital Media Producer, and Writer with International Neighbors, I covered and produced dozens of stories of the challenges and successes of resettling refugee families across the Charlottesville area from 2020-2022, who were assisted in their resettlement by grassroots organizations such as International Neighbors.
I founded and produced International Neighbors monthly publication, ‘IN Short’.

I photographed dozens of Afghan families resettling in the Charlottesville area during the immediate and lasting aftermath of the Taliban takeover in 2021.
Asia, a refugee from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, resettled in the U.S. as a single mother of 5. With the assistance of grassroots organizations such as International Neighbors, she has been able to start her own state-licensed night-care, caring for children of night-shift workers in her neighborhood, in order to afford rent and essentials for her own family.
As a fundraising campaign for International Neighbors, we followed the story of AJ Mihklif, a resettled Afghan SIV, and his family. After 5 years in the United States, with the assistance of IN, had stable income, appropriate housing, and education for their children.
